Certain signs can assure you that the wires or cords present in your household are damaged. Instead of speculating, it’s always best to act on it, before things get out of hand. Hence, replacing wires or cords that are damaged should be the first thing on your list. Furthermore, damaged cords and wires can indeed lead to short circuits and are inevitable fire hazards. So, ensure that you change any damaged cords or wires.

2.Employ only the best switchgear/MCBs

Switchgears/MCBs or any circuit breaker, in general, are specifically designed to endure large amounts of electricity and open the circuit if the current becomes anomalous and hence, dangerous. Smart switchgear/MCBs made by the best electrical appliance manufacturers in India are more efficient and accurate in the way they deal with anomalous current. Having a switchgear/MCB that is of an optimal quality will certainly help you sleep soundly, knowing that you’re covered quite well by the switchgear/MCB.

3.Do not overload your outlets.

This may seem obvious but you’d be surprised that statistically, most of the accidents that led to fire originated from people overloading their outlets. To ensure that you do not end up similarly, always exercise control over what it is that you’re plugging in. If you’ve got a tv plugged into one, also a laptop, for instance, ensure that you do not keep adding more appliances that would demand more electricity from the outlet, resulting in its overloading.

4.Follow appliance instructions for electrical safety

Every single electrical appliance that you purchase, comes with certain guidelines for safety. It is the consumer’s responsibility to follow these guidelines to a T. Every other appliance, made by various manufactures have their own set of guidelines and rules for safety, based on how they are designed. Hence, to know how to be safer, it’s always best to go through the guidelines that the manufactures include with the appliance that you’ve bought.

5.Making children more aware

If your household has children, it does become slightly tricky to ensure safety as they may exercise their naivete and start an unfortunate chain of events that may result in hazardous consequences. Hence, for any appliance that is bought or even any appliance that is present in your household, ensure that you educate your children on how those appliances work and what safety precautions they should follow. If children are much younger, exercise control and ensure that they do not roam around appliances that may cause harm.

Let us make 2021 a much safer year by following these precautions and be aware at each step of the way that you uphold the responsibility of keeping your household safe from any possible damage or hazardous consequence.
