Get into the world of cables

Something About cables!
A power cable is an electrical cable, an assembly of one or more electrical conductors, usually held together with an overall sheath.
The assembly is used for transmission of electrical power.
Power cables may be installed as permanent wiring within buildings, buried in the ground, run overhead, or exposed. Modern power cables come in a variety of sizes, materials, and types, each particularly made for their respective uses.

Large single insulated conductors are also sometimes called power cables in the industry.
Cables consist of three major components: conductors, insulation, protective jacket. The makeup of individual cables varies according to application.

ü The construction and material are determined by some factors: Working voltage, determining the thickness of the insulation, Current-carrying capacity, determining the cross-sectional size of the conductors, environmental conditions such as temperature, water, chemical or sunlight exposure, and mechanical impact, determining the form and composition of the outer cable jacket.
The cable include uninsulated conductors used for the circuit neutral or for ground earth connection. The overall assembly may be round or flat. Non-conducting filler strands may be added to the assembly to maintain its shape.

Well, all electrical cables are somewhat flexible, allowing them to be shipped to installation sites wound on reels or drums. Where applications require a cable to be moved repeatedly, such as for portable equipment, more flexible cables called "cords" or "flex" are used.
Power cables are very basic component of any electrical system. There are different types of cables. The choice of specific cable types depends on specific purposes which are based on several factors, the most important of them are the technical specifications of the functions.

Some facts to be known for an electrical cable are:

Copper is not always a better conductor than aluminium

Believing that copper is a far better conductor of electricity than aluminium at all times, is inaccurate. To know that, which conductor is better between these two metals, there are many factors that need to be taken into account. One of them is that conductivity in relation to cable wires is not merely a function of the measure of resistivity but rather a unique combination of the size of the cables and the insulation material that is used.

The cable current capacity is affected by different factors and does not remain stable

It is common to hear people talk of the possibility of their current cable capacity to remain stable forever, but this is the biggest misconception. However, the truth of the matter is that the cable current capacity changes all the time and does not remain stable over the lifetime of the cables.

New power cables do not last as long as people expect them to

Reason behind this is that, since there are many manufacturers of electric cables, it is highly unlikely that all the power cables that you install will last for a specific period of time. There are many different types of power cables, a specific type of power cable is defined in terms of its capacity, durability, usage and other industry-specific characteristics.

Cable armour is not used to protect the cable against possible physical impacts

It should be emphasized that the armour is not meant to protect the cable from the water. Therefore, exposing armoured cables to water may easily lead to the destruction of the armour and lead to the exposure of the actual cables over time.

Now, what are networking cables!

Networking cables are networking hardware used to connect one network device to other network devices or to connect two or more computers to share printers, scanners etc. It helps in connecting and transferring data. Networking cables are also known as communication cable.
Different types of network cables, such as coaxial cable, optical fibre cable, and twisted pair cables, are used depending on the network's layer, topology, and size. There are several technologies used for network connections. Patch cables are used for short distances in offices and wiring closets. Electrical connections using twisted pair or coaxial cable are used within a building. Optical fibre cable is used for long distances or for applications requiring high bandwidth or electrical isolation. Many installations use structured cabling practices to improve reliability and maintainability. In some home and industrial applications power lines are used as network cabling.

A transmission medium is required to carry information from a source to a destination.  In wireless transmission the electromagnetic waves are transmitted without using a physical conductor. There are three types of cables such as: Twisted pair cable, Coaxial cable and Fibre optic cable.

What do you understand by instrumentation cables?

Instrumentation cables are those cables that are multiple conductor cables they pass low energy electrical signal which are used for monitoring and controlling power systems and process that are associated with it.
Basically, power cables are a big thing in electricity world, all wirings, connections, communication, transfer of information or data are done with the help of cables.
